Abbeville Press submissions
We are not accepting unsolicited book proposals for the Abbeville Press imprint at this time. Our list is full for the next several seasons, but should we decide to expand our list in the future, we'll post a notice on this website advising that we are ready to review new projects. Meanwhile, we wish you success in placing your proposal with another publisher.

Abbeville Family submissions
We are currently accepting proposals for the Abbeville Family division and Abbeville Kids imprint. Abbeville Family largely covers parenting subjects, and Abbeville Kids includes illustrated books for all ages of children. We highly recommend that you review our titles before submitting your work to us, so that you will have a better understanding of the kinds of books we have published. However, we are always interested in original ideas.

All proposals should include the following:

• A cover letter (including a summary of the book idea)
• For children's books, submit the complete manuscript
• For longer works, submit the table of contents, sample chapter, and synopsis of each chapter
• Biography of the author, illustrator, and/or photographer (explaining the expertise or experience you have in the subject matter)
• A list of competitive or comparable titles (including the title, author, publisher, and price for these competing books), with explanation of how your work differs
• Marketing ideas and sales points

Please note that we are not responsible for lost or damaged material. If you expect material to be returned, please include an envelope and postage.
