"Poor sir, though I would like to,
I am too tired to be of any help, and I must get home," Sir
Chainmail says. The injured man says, "A true knight would
lend his assistance at any hour for anyone." "I am sorry,"
Sir Chainmail says. "You are right. I shall help you." "No!"
the injured man says. "You did not say 'yes' right away. I do
not want your help now. Go." Sir Chainmail leaves, ashamed of
his behavior. Soon, he changes his mind and goes back to the
knight. "I am going to help you, no matter what you say. I made
a mistake, but I want to do the right thing." Sir Chainmail takes
the man to his castle, where a doctor soon cures him. Before the
knight leaves Sir Chainmail's castle, he says, "Thank you. I have
learned not to be too proud to accept help the second time around
and you have learned to give help the first time around. We are
both better for it." The End.
