Dried Flower Gifts presents a new and fresh approach to the delightful pastime of preserving flowers and arranging them attractively. It serves both as a basic guide for newcomers to the craft and as an exciting and original source of inspiration for dried flower arrangers with more experience.

Lavishly illustrated throughout with specially commissioned color photographs and step-by-step illustrations, it features over 20 projects for exquisite gifts to create for family and friends. This stunning collection includes scented garlands, posies, pots and pomanders, flower baskets and classic topiary trees. Additional ideas are also provided, from making tiny cake decorations to larger scale items, such as a garland for a mirror, lampshade, or candelabra. Each practical project has been beautifully photographed and is accompanied by clearly written, step-by-step instructions.

An invaluable reference section at the back of the book provides information on how to grow flowers for drying and how to buy only the best-quality dried flowers and other materials from florists and general suppliers. Here, too, the author gives additional advice on growing and harvesting flowers for drying. She also explains how to dry and preserve flowers at home (including using dessicants, and the microwave oven), and supplies invaluable ideas for prolonging the life of dried flowers while offering helpful hints on dealing with misshapen or damaged flowerheads. A useful summary of which tools and equipment are required to get started is also provided, while a helpful color chart serves as an instant reference for mixing and matching different types of flowers.
