Corenwyn: Special type of genever from Bols. Corenwyn is an alternative spelling of the generic kirenwijn, the high-malt genever specialty. Only Bols is permitted use of Corenwyn as a brand name because it was Lucas Bols himself who created the drink back in 1575. It is distilled in copper pot stills in a four-stage process, the last of which has the spirit pass over juniper berries to extract flavour and aroma. Three years ageing in oak casks endows a pale gold colour and mello nut and fruit flavour. It is sold in handmade stone jars.
