Peter Turnley Peter Turnley is a contract photographer for Newsweek, where his coverage of the Gulf War, Bosnia, Somalia, Rwanda, South Africa, Chechnya, Haiti, the Middle East, Indonesia, and Kosovo has won numerous honors, including the Overseas Press Club Award for Best Photographic Reporting from Abroad. His photographs have also appeared in international publications such as Stern and Paris Match as well as in three books made in collaboration with his twin brother, David: Beijing Spring, Moments of Revolution, and In Times of War and Peace. An American based in Paris for the past twenty-three years, he is a graduate of the University of Michigan, the Sorbonne, and the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris.

Adam Gopnik is Paris correspondent for The New Yorker and author of a collection of essays entitled Paris to the Moon.
